Teas In A Podcast - Current / Previous

Fri 30th Aug
Wow, very busy & crazy week, sorry about lack of updates. The main concern right now is shortage of space online for the podcast. Recorded an amazing show at the weekend & have to wait until 1st Sept to upload it 'cos we get 100mb a month & the new show alone is 60mb! The weekly podcast show will have to be a lot shorter in future, there are three guests on the new one. In any case, it's doing way better than expected, so maybe we'll have enough donations soon to upgrade to a bigger account :p

William Nein has released some very polished new recordings of old favourite material, you gotta hear this:

There's another new podcast episode online called Jet Tea & The Welsh Comet in which we discuss merry meetings, seasons tree climbings and our very special guest sings a song:

It's always a strange feeling to take a short, eventful trip someplace & be home for tea before the milk in the fridge turns sour. Berlin actually seems to have settled down a bit, I probably shouldn't have gone out, all guns blazing, night after night, but hey - still alive & who needs so many friends anyway.

Podcast is rollin' blad, we're now proper listed on iTunes & there's a page for yer phone too. Future episodes will be more music-driven 'cos I really want to promote new bands & didn't realise we'd have so many listeners. Just started off as an experiment but now I've got some big ideas, heaven help us.

Here's part 1 one of the Rebecca Florence interview on Tea Tone where we talk music, New York & hot cross buns..

Well that weekend was fuckin' shambles! What a shame & nevermind - onwards. Raining in Berlin today, in all manner of ways, and I kinda just wanna go back to London now, get a'moving with the records. Spoke with a friend of mine about her first lesbian experience & she said it was ok but kinda felt like a competition. Made me laugh. Think I'll try get this fabulous Rebecca Florence podcast up in a minute & then hit the Madame Claude open mic.

In Berlin one day & it's weird already. Met up with an old friend from Rutgers, New Jersey, and thought it would be nice to show her the boat hostel & stay there a couple nights. Thing is, they didn't have any waterside rooms available except for the 'honeymoon suite' at the end with a little balcony thing over the water. The receptionist was like 'I assume you're a couple?' & I yelped 'absolutely!' before I saw just how ridiculous the cabin is. In any case, after a fun night out in the city I drunkenly fell out with my friend & she went to stay elsewhere, and now I'm in this crazy romantic boat cabin on my own & the staff think my wife left me.

On top of that I'm booked in as Steve Wiggins 'cos that's who I was with the last time & the tent we stayed in on the deck was booked in his name. Saved some time with paperwork.

And I set the fire alarm off last night while looking for the light switch in the dark, and the staff member who came to fix it was Arthur, a friend from years ago. Which was kinda embarrassing 'cos obviously he knows my name isn't Steven Wiggins so it looked like I've booked the honeymoon suite under a fake name for some kindof sordid weekend.

It's beautiful here though, looking at the old Warschauer Str bridge over the water, and those big yella trains. Can't even remember why I'm here at all.

And then, right on cue, guess who turns up? Alex. Yeah, Clara Day in Berlin. On this boat.

Quite wonderfully we received enough donations recently to invest in the podcast, so we now have enough 'radio space' online to record & upload more episodes. So thank you, and here's an interview with Myles Manley from Ireland which includes a Take That cover we all recorded when Jeeps were in Dublin last year:

It's gonna be quite a busy week on Tea Tone as we finally have some media to share. Recorded two podcasts this week, one with travelling welshman Andy Williams & another with Myles Manley, they will be online very soon so subscribe to the podcast if you haven't already!

William Nein has recorded a very interesting album, presumably live to tape:

And may I also recommend the new record by Jason Trachtenburg & The Pendulum Swings which can be found on Spotify here: The Most Essential Album Ever
