Wed 2nd Sept 2015 JEEPS playing at Proud Galleries in Camden next Tue 8th Sept (Click HERE for FB event) - Mon 31st Aug 2015 Wowsers, so we played the Crown & Treaty last night ahead of the Velouria party we're throwing on Thu 10th, and while it was great fun, there are no monitors (speakers for the band to hear themselves - specifically vocals) at the venue. Fri 28th Aug 2015 The Tea Tone Towers have never been so busy. First off, Albert & The Solid Goold have CONFIRMED they're coming over to play some shows over the Halloween weekend of October, and plans are underway to take a road trip with them to Berlin, with JEEPS & maybe Phoebe Novak for a European road-trip tour. So there's THAT, meanwhile we had the first England & The April rehearsal in over 8 years today, working on new material and polishing up Safety In Cucumbers for a 10 year anniversary release. Heavens, what else. JEEPS playing the Crown & Treaty in Uxbridge this Sunday, and then the first Velouria Clubnight in over 10 years at the same venue, with Zealous Yen (Jae's band), Stark Self (Tom's band), and the William Nein Tea Party (William's band) on Thu 10th Sept. That will be followed by another Velouria party on Wed 16th, this time in North London at the beautifully refurbished Nambucca venue. New Laura Stevenson song released today - Mon 24th Aug 2015 It's all gonna start kicking off again soon, with our Velouria clubnights especially, so any bands who wanna get involved please get in touch & here's a couple dates for yer diary - Sun 30th Sept - Jeeps at the Crown & Treaty, Uxbridge, 7pm. Fri 30th Oct - Velouria Halloween Special (TBC) Mon 24th Aug 2015 Been building up the Tea Tone Towers this week with the help of our talented allies in the field of splendid. The bold bricoleur of the And.Made. brand - can you tell who it is yet - constructed a drum mat par-excellence, which we'll be using to record Stark Self's debut album tomorrow. Then Jet Tea dropped by with a truckload of jars and made some incredible home made jam from the blackberry bushes behind Glendale Studio here, and we'll be selling those at our Tea Tone Party merch stalls. Speaking of which, Albert & The Solid Goold and Phoebe Novak might very well be heading over to play the Halloween Tea Tone Party, for which we're scouting locations. Mon 17th Aug 2015 After the move and all that we went to see Tom's band Stark Self (named after my 2010 album :p) at the Treaty and let our hair down a little. Actually we didn't tie our hair back again until this morning - clambering back on the wagon ain't always a piece of cake - which reminds me - Ailsa's Tropical Birthday Party ended up with Eddie & I at Liquid & Envy nightclub in Uxbridge. Oops -
Thu 13th Aug 2015 So, last night in possession of the Camden flat tonight. Gonna part quietly from the place with no final blow-out, the time for such a thing has passed. It's always the way innit - I've so much to tell you, and now we're both here I can't think of what it was I wanted to say. Got paid to dig a pond for the neighbours ahead of the thunderstorm last night. The rest of the 'hood looked more than a little afraid; they've probably been dreading my return to the 'burbs; they're not to know I'm a changed man. JEEPS have a show at the Railway in Winchester Thu 24th Sept. We tuned up the dulcimer at Glendale Studio yesterday. It's raining right now. Wed 12th Aug 2015 Greetings, one and all. Got stuff coming up so heaving this merry mirage back into the arena. Kindof lost it after an otherwise very successful JEEPS show at Acklam Village Market the other day, when they ignored Eddie at the bar and tried to made me feel like a scrounging scumbag when I asked about our free beer each. A 45 minute set of quirky resplendence, offering instantaneous, on the spot rebirth to an 80 strong audience dropping tears of life-appreciation on their trembling iPhones set to stunned, or happily chowing down on overpriced market-munch, and the bar manager couldn't part with a bottle of locally brewed beer? The number of venues I'm prepared to perform at now is no longer long enough to qualify as a list. Anyway. So I've got the Tea Tone Party a new venue, this time locally to where we've recently relocated to, at the Crown & Treaty in Uxbridge. See the Tea Tone Facebook page for event. Meanwhile I'm busy renovating what once was the original Glendale Studio, where everything from early England & The April material to On A Monday was recorded. I have a new piano, space to think, and I'm over the moon. Marcin will take over our Camden flat from this weekend, and I'm gonna more or less lock myself away for the winter and record at least one album completely from scratch. Just wrote the first England & The April song for many many years, it's called The King In The Carpark. Yup. Previous |
